In the Footsteps of My Grandfather - Mr Eric Chambers
A fascinating talk and slide presentation on the large screen entitled: In the Footsteps of my Grandfather - August 1914-1915. A story of his family history during the Great War, an astonishing realisation of what it must have been like for his grandfather at this horrifying period through his researched diaries and photographs. An event to put in your diary and not one to be missed.

Sheffield Long Ago - Roy Newman
See Sheffield as it was in the early 1900's through a series of remarkable photographs presented as a large screen presentation.
Some of the most interesting and historic buildings in Sheffield were lost due to Hitler's war of 39/45, but more vandalism was done due to the so called developers and not least Sheffield City Council.
This presentation will show what a proud city it was, and how we all mourn the passing of great architecture, to the Lego type buildings we are now left with now, and will quickly be the slums of tommorrow

FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH WORKSHOPS
The Society has full search facilities for members who are working on their family history.
We hold many information disks, have internet access for all the census’s from 1841 to 1901 and have details concerning local burials for Dinnington.
It is important that you bring as much detail as possible, including full family names and places if available, to carry out this research. Initial help will be given but you will need to carry out the research yourself.
Research times: 10 – 12 on Thursday mornings at Dinnington Resource Centre, Laughton Road, Dinnington.
Please ensure you contact us if you wish to use this facility as spaces are limited so booking is advisable.
PLEASE NOTE: we do not carry out work on behalf of people, we will support and guide you to undertake the research work yourselves.
